Resort was lovely, the trees were gorgeous and fragrant, the upper parking lot was busy on the weekend but tbh not even remotely similar to being anywhere IN Santa Cruz. Being from a small touristy mountain town we felt pretty at home. Even the drive down into Santa Cruz was doable for someone who is used to a super rural life, pace, and drive. No complaints from us.

Great hotel, great stay. One downside - have to pay for parking ($18 / day). It absurd that a hotel guest has to pay for parking - it's not as though it's impacted in any way by any local attractions. It's a pure money making grab.

Asked for early check in…told I would have options to choose a room when I got to the hotel. Got to the hotel…no rooms available. Had to wait for a room to be available. Ultimately…did get a room. No Kleenex in the room and had to ask for a disposable shower cap.

This may seem like a steal of a deal for a room this nice in the area. Don’t be fooled, they up charge you for everything! $25 to park, $100 for their crappy continental powdered egg breakfast. There is only one small pool and hot tub for hundreds of guests.
