Denver Now 3rd As Spring Break Destination Due To Legal Weed

VIDEO: Colorado Seeing Huge Increase In Spring Break Travel

With the legalization of recreational marijuana in Colorado in 2014, Denver jumped all the way to 3rd place as a spring break destination in March after only Las Vegas and New Orleans.

But, as you will see in this news clip, Denver is popular with vacationers of all ages. Doug Drumm, a tourist from Syracuse, NY, recently visited the Medicine Man recreational pot shop in Denver.

“Why did we come here? To buy that,” Drumm said pointing to the marijuana at the shop.

Travel to Denver has continued to see a major increase in tourism starting with the first day of legal marijuana sales for recreational use on January 1. Some states to the east of Colorado have reported an almost 60% increase in flight searches to Denver.

Regarding Denver as a popular destination for all adults, Drumm summed it up best: “It’s a great city. Plus, you have the benefit of being able to do what you should be able to do anyway.”

Now that recreational weed is legal in Colorado, we’re confident that it will continue to be a popular spring break destination for college students (over 21, of course). And all adults can now go there to enjoy the freedom to do what you should be able to do anyway.
