Marijuana is now legal for anyone over the age of 21 in Colorado. And there are plenty of retail pot shops throughout the state – open for business since January 1, 2014. Wish you lived in there? That’s OK, because tourists and locals alike can indulge in the green.

No longer do you need a state-issued medical card to buy pot at a dispensary. All you need is a regular ol’ driver’s license, state ID, or passport. That’s right, you don’t even have to be a US citizen to buy pot in Colorado.

Any adult (over 21) can possess up to one ounce of weed. Locals can purchase up to one once per sale. However, tourists can purchase a quarter of an ounce per sale. Considering the quality of the pot in Colorado, that should be just fine for most visitors to “America’s Amsterdam”. And if not, you can always check out another recreational marijuana dispensary to get another quarter.
